Being a dad with kids who were really stubborn, I agree that some hidden glitch in the game stops it from running on my PC. It's actually just a "oh no" situation because the game only works on super-fast computers like those made for old TVs (not my fault). The real shame is that Roblox runs way too slow on an old potato machine...
I used to face this same problem back when I started playing. Instead of trying to find the right fix, I blocked the executable through the firewall and then changed my host file so the computer would think it was sending everything nowhere. Most probably they only use one IP address for playing, and that's what I did by redirecting them off the real server. It might be worth a shot if you want to try something like this, figuring out their game IP shouldn't take too long.
