Is there a method to eliminate stutter using VSync off? With a 60Hz monitor, your games might stutter more when you switch to higher FPS, especially if you're using a non-gaming monitor.

If the stutter appears only when VSync is disabled, keep it enabled. Regular interruptions (about every 5 seconds as noted) usually mean a background task is running heavy CPU work or holding down a kernel lock that affects your gameplay. Begin by stopping any nonessential background applications such as RGB settings and hardware monitoring tools.

You're considering a 240hz G-Sync monitor and wondering if enabling G-Sync will resolve your issue.

If the issue stems from a background process activating every 5 seconds, resolving it requires identifying the specific process.
If you're referring to avoiding hiccups with vsync, you'll only discover the solution after attempting it.

You're likely experiencing screen tearing at 60 or input lag, not a problem with your CPU. You mentioned getting a 240hz monitor, which is a significant waste of money, especially considering your graphics card. Professional players often receive free gear, and marketing hype doesn't always reflect real need or benefit. Opt for a 144hz monitor—it will greatly improve over 60 and you won't even notice the difference from 240 to that level, or it will be worth the upgrade.

I altered my thoughts regarding the 240hz, opting for the 165hz instead.

Check if the issue is really screen tearing by adjusting your FPS to match your refresh rate instead of using VSync. It might also help to keep an eye on your temperatures and usage for CPU and GPU, and see if any problems exist on your drive (microstutters from disk access can affect game loading). Bottlenecking is always present, but it's important to confirm if your performance limits match your needs. For example: I use an i5-3570K with a GTX 1060 6G; in Destiny 2 it's mostly GPU limited, while in Planetside 2 it's mostly CPU limited, even though the same system is used. Different games, different conditions.

Yes, screen tearing may lead to abrupt FPS reductions when using VSync while the game is running at variable frame rates.

I'm checking if the Toshiba dt01aca100 1tb HDD is causing the issue.
