The issue is that games are crashing in the menu or lobby but not during actual gameplay. The affected titles include Dota 2, HUNT: Showdown 1986, and Dark & Darker. There are no error messages, and it's not happening when joining matches. I've checked forums without finding anyone with the same problem. I'm unsure where to begin.

My PC specifications are:
- Motherboard: Z790 AORUS PRO X V1.0
- CPU: i9-14900k
- GPU: RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
- RAM: 32GB DDR5
- Operating System: Windows 11

Please let me know if you need more details.

Assuming the server works fine, check the Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer on your PC. These tools might record certain errors, warnings, or events leading up to or during the crashes.

Event Viewer 显示 Schannel存在明显问题。
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...p-overview
游戏来源在哪里?Dark and Darker (DungeonCrawler.exe) 和 Huntdown (Huntgame.exe) 被标记为问题应用。
我建议优先查找并尝试修复损坏的文件。使用“dism”和“sfc /scannow”。
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-d...s-10-image
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-...es-2626161

I haven't experimented with the other titles. I removed everything except Dark and Darker.
What should I do next?

I would remove Dark and Darker.
After that, without any games, check if the system remains stable and errors disappear.
Then add another game to see if it causes issues.
Just trying to find the cause by carefully narrowing down the steps.
= = = =
The interesting aspect is whether games are crashing in the menu or lobby but not while playing.
This reminded me of Process Explorer (Microsoft, free).
The approach would be to observe all running processes on your PC before starting Steam.
Keep an eye on what starts, stops, or changes.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysint...s-explorer
= = = =
Also: correction – I meant to ask about the entry labeled "Schannel," but I actually wanted to know what it refers to.

Hey there,
The problem with 14900k/f/s comes from the CPU's clock speed. Try changing the multiplier to 53 and see if it resolves the issue. Also, check the BIOS on the motherboard—it might need an update.

Hello, before encountering the issue you described, some games would stop with the warning "out of video memory..." I updated the MB BIOS to the latest available version and the problem was resolved. I don’t understand how adjusting the multiplier to 53 relates to clock speed—I’ll let you know if I find out. Yesterday I experienced the same crash after updating the BIOS, which suggests the issue might still exist. I assumed the update fixed it, but I’m curious if others are still facing problems. Should I attempt using the "Intel Failsafe mode"? I’ve read that some users with the 13900 model had similar difficulties. News - Are crashes on high-end Intel CPUs affecting your setup? Several factors might contribute: power, current, voltage, and clock speeds. Is your Intel Core i9-13900K experiencing crashes in games? Your motherboard BIOS configuration may be the reason—other high-end Intel CPUs have also been affected. forums. I’m trying to grasp this, but it’s overwhelming. Why are top-tier products failing like this? I need my PC to function properly after work and enjoy gaming for a short time. Sorry, just wanted to share...
