Upgrading from i7-10700k, 32gb ddr, etc., to i9-14900k, 64gb ddr5, 4090, Samsung 990 Pro, etc... There are recommended adjustments for Windows 11 with NVME. I recall in Win7 there were many settings to disable and modify. Should the paging file still be managed? Could it be moved to another drive (like having one 2gb 990 pro and another 1tb 970 evo+)? Is TRIM still necessary? Do you need to reinstall the latest Intel INF setup.exe? I intend to install GeForce drivers, thinking they offer a significant improvement over the default Windows versions. Are there any other tips to optimize performance beyond CPU overclocking? Thank you.
No. The drive will be recognized in the BIOS. Please read what needs to be done. It isn't much. CPU can OC themselves when needed. No reason to OC on a 24/7 basis shortining the CPU's longevity. You can set RAM to run at advertised or OC in the BIOS. Don't mess with the page file. Windows 7 is ancient history.
