I'm curious about how DNS manages to put search engines into safe mode. Are there particular IP addresses for restricted search services? I usually use my own filters on pfSense, preferring direct DNS access with full control.

We don’t have any old PCs left, but we’ve got the necessary hardware now. We’re looking into PFSense and have the parts we need.

I personally set up my own system using Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi, and I rely on the free blocklists available at the provided link.

Certainly! Here’s a version with some different wording:

I can filter out only specific ads you wish to support, like LINUX tech tips, without affecting others. This way, you won’t have to pay every month.

It’s fully adjustable. You can import lists of URLs or add specific ones to the blacklist, and you can also whitelist URLs to prevent blocking.
