I just secured my new rig. Unfortunately, the system integrator said certain features couldn’t be added because of how the mainboard and case were set up. Since the builder left extra funds for a better holder and case combination, I’m considering DIY options. I’ve heard about using glass bottles or cans—probably you mean those. Just want something safe, not flammable or prone to melting, which would be risky given the GPU’s heat. *Assuming it arrived okay. This is my second try.* The first attempt had loose cable ties, a torn power cable from SATA ports, and damage found when it was returned.

I possess a 3d printed support made from standard PLA and it remains solid even under pressure. Using an old pen might be a good option.

Can we view an image of the PC interior to assess spacing, gaps, and blockages? What type of GPU is installed? It might not require any support—I use a basic pillar design. Amazon.com: Graphics Card GPU Brace Support, Video Card Sag Holder Bracket, GPU Stand (L, 74-120mm) : Electronics

Look for a non-conductive material that connects the GPU to the base of the case. Visit nearby electronics shops for nylon nuts and bolts. Alternatively, consider using construction kits such as K'Nex, LEGO, or Lincoln Logs.

The reason you're hesitating to purchase is unclear. Could you clarify what's stopping you?

They sent you a computer missing the needed graphics card, which caused it to fail, and now they’re returning it without any support. This seems concerning. If you can, I’d like a refund. It’s possible the motherboard is also damaged.

Largely due to the feeling that Dedayog's post didn't actually happen. Of course, everyone spent a lot for the fans, which is why there are many supporters. I decided to look for a version that fits on top of fan mounts. More cash ends up going to Amazon. Since my GPU is a 5090, I have no reason not to buy something well-made. But with so many options, I'm frustrated that my system builder doesn't seem to know anything about this. They don't even carry Noctua fans.

I pushed them hard enough with a lot of packing foam, hoping it would work this time. If anything moved, it should have dented the case or broken the side panel glass. Interestingly, my last PC I bought there had those foam cushions to hold the 3060, so I didn’t think they’d use just two cable ties this time.

The item is described as containing Hookers and Cocaine from a Ming Dynasty case dated to the 14th century. It mentions no foam, expressing strong disbelief.

The claim about toxicity was likely incorrect. Updated on October 24, 2025 by Sentos Clarification, spelling notes included.
