Wake on LAN is set up on your home server without issues locally, but it behaves differently when communicating over external networks. Magic packets function correctly from the WAN for a while, yet fail once you switch to LAN. The router directs traffic through ports 7 and 9, which doesn't work if you change the broadcast IP settings.

wake on lan operates at a basic level and often fails when using portforward. For remote wake-ups from devices like a raspberry pi, consider alternative methods to send wol packets locally.
