I’ll begin with my present setup: operating system Windows 10, motherboard Rog Strix Z390-E, processor Intel Core i7-9700K (8 cores, ~3.60GHz), memory G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB, card GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, dual monitors ASUS ROG XG279Q. When I initially configured the system, I used DisplayPort, but encountered a problem where my monitors would wake up unexpectedly, lose connection, and then display an error saying they couldn’t connect. My machine remained responsive otherwise—audio still played through speakers—and the only way to fix it was to restart manually. After checking forums, I learned this issue is fairly typical with DisplayPort and that HDMI might be a better alternative since it doesn’t trigger the same behavior. Now I’m facing new challenges: my main monitor periodically blinks out for about three seconds before reactivating. I’ve verified all cables, drivers, and logs, but no cause stands out. Additionally, when monitors enter sleep mode, they now stay locked to the main screen and get resized instead of waking properly. I’ve spent considerable time searching forums, narrowing down possible causes, yet still can’t find a reliable solution. It appears the problem is tied to Deep Sleep mode, though my monitors don’t support disabling it. I’ve tried common fixes—disabling phantom devices, updating drivers, even changing the lock screen background—but nothing works. This issue has been reported for nearly ten years without a definitive answer. Recently, I’ve resorted to manually editing registry settings (specifically the graphics driver path) in RegEdit, hoping it might help. I’m open to any advice or alternatives from others who’ve dealt with this situation. Thank you for your support!
