DisplayPort HELL! No really, this is a nightmare.
DisplayPort HELL! No really, this is a nightmare.
Hello! I'm trying to figure out a tricky issue with my monitor's DisplayPort connection. I've always been cautious about DP cables, especially since some low-quality ones have caused problems before. For the past couple of years, I've managed to stay trouble-free, but recently things started acting up unexpectedly. There would be sudden blackouts that would appear and disappear without warning. Sometimes it would flicker for a few seconds before returning to normal, but more often it would last longer—lasting 10 to 15 cycles—and then become unstable every few minutes. Eventually, the screen would display artifacts, which made me decide to switch to HDMI instead.
All three HDMI inputs are functioning perfectly now, with no issues at all. At first I thought maybe the monitor's DP port was faulty or just a bad cable, but after trying everything—restarting the system, adjusting Windows and AMD settings, even reinstalling drivers—I still faced problems. The new cable worked for a short time, but the issue returned quickly.
I'm stuck and not sure what to do next. Would anyone else have dealt with something similar? I'm hoping someone can help me out.
