I needed to relocate my PC to another room for a day. After returning, it began looping through the BIOS with the splash screen appearing. I was able to access the BIOS and all drives were detected properly (no BIOS adjustments prior to failure). When booting any operating system, it would enter a loop with specific specifications: Windows 10 x64, Linux Mint, Absolute Linux, Intel 10400F, Gigabyte H410H, EVGA XP-SLX DDR4 2133, 8GB x2 Coolermaster MWE 500W, 230V adapter, ADATA XPC NVME SSD 500G, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, Toshiba 4TB HDD (model not found). I followed troubleshooting steps without changing anything—tried different RAM configurations, swapped two sticks from another machine, cleared CMOS, updated BIOS, disconnected power cables, re-seated components, and even tried reseating the GPU. After connecting the NVME drive again, it worked. I attempted to boot into Linux from a live USB, but it kept looping back to Windows. I ran Memtest86 successfully. From my experience, similar problems appeared in tech support discussions, often linked to CPU or RAM issues. Since I’m on a tight budget and don’t want to replace parts, I’m unsure which component might be faulty. I recall a PSU failure on an older machine, so I’m considering replacing the motherboard and CPU in this setup. I also have a 3070 from the old rig, but the PSU only supports 500W—concerned about overloading it. I managed to boot the Ultimate Boot CD, but I’m unsure what tests to run next. Any advice would be appreciated.
