Hello, I purchased a preassembled Asus G35dx tower from an auction site in November 2021 without the graphics card. After bringing it home, I tested it with my friend's GPU and everything functioned normally until yesterday. I replaced the case and moved all components inside. Now everything is working: fans spinning, GPU operational, CPU cooler active but still not posting. There’s a solid red LED light on the motherboard. So far I’ve tried: removing everything to use just the CPU PSU and one RAM stick, inspecting for damaged pins, checking for burns, and looking at forums. The only issue is flashing the BIOS because I can’t identify the exact ASUS model. A driver was found but didn’t help. The motherboard displays only “GA35DX” even though it should show the correct model name. Anyone else faced similar problems? Please let me know what steps you should try before deciding on a motherboard or CPU.

Your specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080 Ti, TUF 850W

Verify your RAM SKU with the board's QVL catalog. I experienced similar problems with every 8-12 cold boots, among other factors, but the RAM I used wasn't listed there. A kit from the QVL list resolved all issues and now runs smoothly. Ryzen processors have strict RAM requirements, and it appears certain boards exacerbate the problem.

Sure, let me clarify how to locate the MB name. Since there’s no label besides the built-in PC name (GA35FX), you’ll need to check the device settings or manufacturer documentation for more details.

If you share images of the motherboard, I can assist further. Typically there’s a label indicating the model somewhere on the board. Common brands include MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, ASRock, or similar. Models like X570, B550, B450, Mortar, Gaming, etc., often provide hints. Eventually, most makers will display the board’s model number on it. The serial number is usually found on a sticker near the 24-pin ATX power connector and can be checked on a manufacturer’s website for identification.

Apologies for the delay; I had to go to work. I'll be back soon and give it another shot. Also, please send me some pictures. Thanks!
