Displaying a black screen and restarting the system.
Hey everyone, I'm trying to understand what's going on with my system. It randomly goes black while audio plays, then restarts. I've been using Expo and the GPU is running at 1080mhz in AMD Adrenaline. Now I'm using only stock BIOS and a regular GPU to see what's causing the problem. I'm curious if it's related to RAM or power supply, but it seems like the issue keeps happening even without logging. When I check hwinfo in the background, it doesn't crash, which is frustrating. The Event Viewer shows an unknown error with no details. Recently, I noticed the GPU underperforming, which might be connected to using an 8-pin connector that splits into two. Switching to separate 8-pin connections resolved the issue and made it stable. My current specs are: CPU 7700X, GPU 7800XT, ASRock Phantom Gaming, RAM 32GB DDR5, Samsung die GSKILL Flare X5, MSI B650P Pro Wi-Fi, PSU RM850x (refurbished), storage includes a 2TB SSD and a 1TB WD Green drive connected but offline. The case uses a Corsair 4000D with RGB fans. I'm hoping this helps identify the root cause and get the system back to normal.
Systems are being restarted with 7000 cards and even 6000 if I remember correctly. It’s worth checking the AMD forums for updates. If you’re experiencing similar issues, consider trying various solutions. For example, a thread here discusses troubleshooting: https://community.amd.com/t5/graphics-ca...ts-crashes. Some users recommend higher capacity power supplies, others suggest updating BIOS or chipset drivers. A few mention fixing with updated firmware or avoiding certain brands like Corsair. Others point to RAM timing, low CL RAM, or adjusting clock speeds and voltage. One person tried removing a RAM stick temporarily and found it helped. Some say AMD is aware and working on fixes, though confirmation is lacking. Keep an eye on community discussions for more insights. Your problem might not be about the reboot itself. Good luck with your build!
