Hello. This situation is quite tricky. I’m dealing with a puzzling concern about my monitor’s refresh rate on the Gigabyte G24F. It’s been more than three months since I noticed this issue. Initially, I could maintain 165 Hz in all games without trouble. Recently, though, some titles aren’t reaching their maximum. The rate hovers between 90 and 100 Hz—something I can verify by checking the monitor’s settings. I mainly play Valorant; in that game, I experience instability when using 1080p at a 16:9 aspect ratio. Switching to 4:3 gives a stable 165 Hz. However, this fix seemed temporary. Once I capped my FPS at exactly 165, I got consistent 165 Hz, but occasionally during gameplay—especially when shooting—I see brief stutters and a drop to around 165 Hz again. This fluctuation only appears with 1080p at 16:9, while 4:3 at lower resolution and capped FPS doesn’t trigger the issue. I also played without caps in CS2, but still couldn’t hit the max refresh rate. There was a period when I could run unlimited FPS without problems (around 600 in practice, about 350 in matches), which would be ideal. Still, I wish I could return to that setting. Overall, the display shows 165 Hz in settings, but it feels inconsistent in action. I’m desperate for a solution so I can reliably play at 165 Hz on 1080p 16:9 again, regardless of FPS limits. I’m at a loss and really need your help. Thank you in advance for your time.

Your connection may lack sufficient bandwidth to support 165hz and high resolution.

I'm not sure. I've used a different cable before, and it functioned at one point, so why has it stopped working now?

Just confirming you're not using HDMI or similar connections, okay?
