So I have already posted once about this but after a long while I still have not been able to fix it. I was upgrading my pc I swapped from a ryzen 5 2400g to a ryzen 7 3800x and I swapped to a new case. After swapping it all out I did not get a display and the light said that the cpu was wrong. I put back in the old cpu and it did the same. I looked it up online and it said that the cpu light could also mean ram. I had to go on vacation for 2 weeks. When I got back I tried a new motherboard I ordered and some new ram I borrowed from a friend. I also tried an old power supply my friends had. I still get no display but on this motherboard there is no light saying what is wrong like the other one, only a strip of light that is shining yellow. I tried to go through the manual and stuff to see what it meant but I could not find anything about it. So I still have no idea what is going on and there is all the info the new motherboard is gigabyte b450M ds3h. One more thing when putting in both sticks of my old ram it does not light up and the fans don’t turn on but only one stick or the one stick I got from my friend the lights turn on and the fans but still no display. The old ram is 2 sticks of Corsair vengeance lpx 8 gig ddr4 and the ram I borrowed is 1 stick of adata ad4u240038g17-b ddr4 8 gig. Edited September 13, 2022 by PoseidonsMonkey
I've also attempted to flash the BIOS on the older motherboard. Before starting, I powered it on for a while to check for display issues. I noticed a burning plastic odor and realized the RAM was extremely hot.

Thanks, I’ll look into the RAM situation but for the BIOS update it seems unrelated since the old CPU still doesn’t function. Even though everything has remained unchanged for four years, it still isn’t working. After performing a BIOS flash on the old motherboard and updating to the latest version that claimed compatibility with the 3800x, it didn’t help. The new motherboard I recently purchased from Newegg confirmed it supports it right out of the box.
I've encountered something similar before with an A320 board after upgrading to a 3600/3600X configuration. It seems some device support was disabled to make room for newer processors. This might mean that the specific mix of CPU, RAM, and GPU isn't compatible with that BIOS version.
