R7 2700X, Vega 56, Asus X470 board linked via HDMI to monitor (monitor only supports HDMI). Radeon driver version 22.20.27.09-230330a-390451C, Dell S2718D. Embedded video shows the issue has persisted across multiple driver updates over several years. It appears to be related to monitors, graphics cards, drivers, or Windows problems. Restarting the PC resolves it temporarily but it reappears after power cycles.
Do you have another computer available for testing? You might take that screen to a friend and run it on their machine to check if the behavior matches. If it does, then the issue is likely with the monitor. Alternatively, using a TV in your living room could help verify the problem. Could the HDMI cable be the cause? I haven't encountered any similar problems with that specific cable, but having an extra one would make troubleshooting easier.
I've got several pieces of hardware, and I plan to rearrange them when I can. It's a really specific issue I haven't encountered before—hard to find anyone else with the same problem, especially with that Dell monitor. Maybe I should mention the exact model later. I'll get the monitor details once I'm back home in a few days. S27 probably works.
