Display issues with LGA775 Mobo device
I discovered an outdated PC lying on the road, seemingly without a CPU. I upgraded it with a Core 2 Duo and connected it to the PCIe lane. When powered on, all fans spin and the CPU fan runs but nothing appears on the screen. Might this be due to defective RAM? Since the RAM used matches what was there when I found the machine.
775 stands out because its performance varies widely depending on the motherboard and chipset used. As mentioned, understanding your specific hardware is essential. If your system uses an 800MHz or even 1066 FSB, it might not be compatible with newer Core2 Duos and Quads such as the E8400. Sometimes all it takes is a BIOS update to enable support for those processors.
