Display issues on GPU during modern gameplay Black screen problems while running latest games
Just wanted to inform you I assembled this using leftover components. Sorry for the lack of detail in my parts list. Let's begin with the specifications: I'm running a Dell OptiPlex with its default motherboard. Installed an Intel i7-4790S, 16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, swapped the standard PSU for a 600W Thermaltake TR2, used a 24pin to 8pin adapter until I can afford a new board, and replaced my 1050Ti with a 1080Ti. It performed well with the 1050Ti but causes black screens during World of Warships, Battlefield 2042, New World, and Baldur's Gate 3 for roughly 5-10 minutes. After removing the 1050Ti drivers and reinstalling the 1080Ti drivers, I redownloaded Windows and it still occurs. Interestingly, FurMark doesn't crash it; I've kept it running for hours at around 73°C, and the PC stays operational even though the GPU light flickers and goes dark. It works smoothly with most tasks—playing anime or older games without any issues. Edited October 3, 2023 by Set97 clarification
Very likely a PSU problem then. Consider getting a Corsair RXM 650W or Superflower Leadex III (sorry, that’s all the PSUs I know of). I mean, except for the Corsair RMI which is no longer made. Still... PSU isn’t enough, you’ll need something better. PS: It looks like a solid sleeper build overall.
Corsair CX is reportedly strong, and a suitable option for your GPU could be this model. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CX650M-Mo...B093NTQJSF
it's an off-brand option but it should work, all of China is using this PSU... definitely a high-quality piece, under 100 ~ https://www.newegg.com/segotep-gp-series...Tk5vLUdfQg
