your pc runs an rx 570 with power color and a ryzen 5 5600x, while your monitor is an msi optix g242 at 144hz. you're experiencing screen flickering in games but not otherwise, despite updating drivers, using freesync, and switching to a display port cable that worked for a short time. someone might suggest checking the graphics card's power supply stability, testing with a different cable or port, or ensuring your monitor's refresh rate settings match exactly.

Ensure your cables are in good condition, consider replacing them if needed. Verify all connections are secure. Change the GPU slot if necessary. Confirm your monitor's power supply is properly connected. I mentioned this earlier (it’s fine if you don’t recall).

I did that previously, it functioned properly. The cable is brand new.

these are the just a few ports available on the graphics card and monitor, and it works with every DP cable you use.

Lol, I haven't hit my monitor at all. The HDMI connections look fine and have been functioning properly until now—I guess the issue is with the cable.

I experimented with various cables, but it didn’t resolve the issue.
