Initially everything seemed normal until the Wi-Fi icon disappeared. Quickly I checked the Device Manager, found the adapter hidden and disabled. I removed it without checking the driver deletion option. Restarting helped temporarily but not permanently. I tried downloading the driver from the Asus site, reinstalling it, and even reset network settings with netsh winsock. A SFC scan also came up empty. I booted into safe mode to see if the adapter would show, but it didn’t. No wireless connection at all—can’t connect to the LAN. Any advice? Thanks!

Asus might have their driver set up to block the WLAN device when connected via Ethernet. I’m assuming it doesn’t appear even without an Ethernet connection? Verify that your WLAN wasn’t turned off in the BIOS and that the WiFi antenna was properly connected.

The issue isn't with your Ethernet connection; the wireless adapter isn't showing up in Device Manager. Check the BIOS settings for any related configurations or restrictions.

Based on your motherboard, you can usually turn most built-in features on or off.

You just checked the BIOS settings, but there isn’t an option matching what you need. The wireless network adapter isn’t showing up, even after restarting your laptop and reinstalling the driver. I’m here to help you figure out why.
