Display Fourth Won't Turn On RTX 3090
Display Fourth Won't Turn On RTX 3090
I've been testing a 4K 160Hz screen and two 1080p 60Hz displays. A new 1080p 60Hz monitor was added to the setup, but it doesn't function as a fourth display. When I disconnect one of the other 1080p monitors, the fourth one activates, yet it shuts off immediately when I reconnect the original monitor. Only three displays ever work simultaneously. In Windows Display Settings, the monitor labeled "Monitor 2" appears, but it's marked as "Disconnect this display," and I can't modify that setting. The Nvidia Control Panel shows four connected monitors, yet only three are active. I'm unable to set the fourth one to mirror mode either. I'm puzzled because my GPU has four output ports, suggesting I should be able to connect all four displays. Since three of them are 1080p 60Hz, it seems like pushing a large number of pixels isn't the issue. I've tried removing all monitors, restarting the computer, and reinserting them one by one, but still only three work at once. Also, I used a USB-C portable monitor before the fourth real one; it matched the resolution and refresh rate, and it worked fine. So despite having four outputs on my GPU, I can't get all four to function together. Is there a way to enable all four monitors in this configuration? Note: Windows and graphics drivers are up to date. Running Windows 11 OS Build 22000.469, GeForce Game Ready Driver 511.23, and I've also tried Nvidia Studio Driver 511.09 without success.
This appears to be a recurring issue I'm encountering now. The same problem shows up on 20 and 30 series cards, mirroring the fourth display while only one works properly. It seems like a software glitch—NVIDIA officially allows up to four displays per GPU, but it's unclear why this isn't working.
