Display black when powering up the computer (hardware problem)
Hello everyone,
My brother gave me his old computer, and it functioned properly for a while. Suddenly, when he turned it on, nothing appeared on the screen. Briefly, other lights besides the fan lights lit up, and all fans—including the GPU fans—seemed to spin at normal speeds. The machine started up randomly and ran almost normally except for an unplayable frame rate during games. The GPU was properly connected, RGBs were active, and fans were spinning.
I purchased a new power supply unit and cleaned the rest of the system. I double-checked all connections and found none loose. I also swapped out the CMOS battery. When the computer powered on, the monitor auto-detected it but then displayed a black screen, leading me to believe the display was malfunctioning. All components except the PSU, SSD, and RAM were around four years old and had worked well until about a month ago.
I’m running out of ideas now and need assistance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try it out and see if you can bring the system back to life using the newest BIOS version available online.

I’ve saved the newest BIOS file and carefully read through the instructions. The flashback indicator stayed on for roughly 4 to 5 minutes before ceasing (as expected), yet the screen remained blank. Could you consider other possibilities?
