Hello, I regret my limited English skills. I am from Argentina, and I recently purchased a new PC equipped with gaming parts.
Intel Core i7 10700KA 5.1GHz Turbo 1200 Comet Lake Avengers Edition
Motherboard ASUS TUF Z490-PLUS WI-FI - Intel 10th Gen - Dual M.2 ATX
Team DDR4 32GB (2x16GB) at 3200MHz T-Force Zeus
- CPU cooler ID-Cooling ICEFLOW 240 ARGB
PSU Cooler Master MWE V2 750W 80 Plus White
HHD Seagate 2TB Barracuda 256MB SATA 6GB / s
Kingston 240GB A400 500MB / s SSD
Corsair 275r Airflow Black Cabinet
I also connected my old hard drive to the new PC as a storage device, and I transferred the games to the new HDD, which is partitioned. Windows is now installed on the SSD.
My plan was to use the Gigabyte Gtx 1070 ti 8GB board on this machine, which I had used before on my previous setup.
After installing it and updating drivers, I began playing Fallout 4. After about 20 minutes, the screen went black and the PC crashed. I noticed the CPU temperature never exceeded 55°C; it stayed consistently around that level, while the GPU reached only about 60°C. In some instances, I had to restart the computer or hope Windows would recover from the black screen, with errors appearing in the Event Viewer pointing to the video card and error code 13.
Then I tried playing Witcher 3, which also crashed, causing a black screen and no visuals. Despite using the latest drivers, I decided to revert to older ones from my previous PC. I lowered the graphics settings gradually, eventually reaching 1920 x 1080 at 60 FPS in the game settings. Once I returned to the same configuration as before, the game crashed again, displaying a black screen, but Windows eventually recovered after some time.
Additionally, the Event Viewer reported the message: "the video controller has failed, but has recovered."
I performed stress tests to check for overheating issues. The CPU never shut down or restarted at maximum load, and the GPU handled rendering without crashing.
The disks are in good condition (I used CrystalDisk Utility), and the RAM functions properly.
I would like to know if my assumption about the graphics card failing is accurate.
PS: I disabled the Multi-Core Enhancement option in the BIOS.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Would you like to test the system by breadboarding it, then find a higher-quality PSU from a friend or neighbor and try running it under load? I suspect the PSU could be the cause since the problem appears only when the system is stressed with demanding games. The other concerns might relate to thermal protection or GPU issues, but your data doesn’t support those ideas. What BIOS version are you using, and what operating system are you running? By crash, do you mean the system restarts or just the screen goes black? Which RAM slots are being recognized on the motherboard?

The ram modules are installed in slots 1 and 3 according to their placement. During crashes, the behavior becomes unpredictable; occasionally the system can recover and reload, while other times it restarts automatically or requires a forced reboot if a black screen appears. The operating system in use is Windows 10 Pro.

The graphics card has been around for several years, ranging from 4 to 5 years. Regarding the previous machine I used, it was an i5 4460 with 16 GB of RAM (two 8 GB units from hyperX), running Windows 10 Pro. The Witcher game performed well, offering high graphics settings, though the GPU would occasionally reach temperatures around 65°C without causing a reboot or black screen.

As for the motherboard, I did not update it because I understand that changes can be delicate. However, based on what I observed, the current model is from 2020. I don’t remember the exact version, and since I’m now at work, I can’t check anything upon returning home.

I keep submitting again to verify if my theory holds up.
I believe my GPU might be failing, even though its lifespan could be extended if I don’t push it too hard. I performed additional tests with other titles, three of them, using the same driver version I used on my old PC (460.79).
I started with Skyrim SE, then moved to WhiteRun, and ran the simulation during daylight hours with a high number of NPCs. This caused the GPU to freeze after several minutes while navigating the city, dealing with water effects that turned a shade of purple before freezing, followed by a black screen and a recovery.
The error message appeared in the Event Viewer:
"Cannot find the description for event ID 14 in the source nvlddmkm. The component causing this event is not installed on the local computer, or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."
If the issue came from another machine, the relevant data had to be saved with the event.
The attached details included:
Device – Video3
0a97 (2a64) 00000000 00000000
The message resource exists, but it can’t be located in the table.

I also tried Halo Master Chief Collection and Euro Truck Simulator 2 without issues, and I ran them with a better GPU setting and onboard board.
Additionally, I cleaned the video card connectors.
