Display appears dark or black on the laptop screen.
You own a gaming laptop with the Asus ROG Strix G15, equipped with a Ryzen 7 4800H processor, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 3050ti graphics card. It was functioning properly when you used it, but after dinner it stopped working entirely. When you tried to restart or connect it to another monitor, it displayed an image. The issue seems to be with the screen itself, not the hardware. Possible causes could include a faulty display cable, a failing backlight, or software glitches. Checking the connection and testing on a different monitor might help identify the problem.
assuming it isnt oled, does it make light in a dark room and just shows a black image? if so then it could be a lot of things, does it show the bios/can you access it and see? If not showing light, have it connected to the external monitor in screen duplication mode, then pull up a mostly white screen. Now with a bright torch or light see if you can point it at the laptop screen in a way it reflects through it and try to see if the screen is showing an image. if it is, the backlamp is busted. There is 2.5 options when it comes to that, either the led driver or array died in the panel, or something has failed on the mainboard in the power circuit. if you are sure you cant see anything on the display with light reflecting through it, and it isnt lit up just black, then mang idk
The display appears on the external monitor. No other actions were taken.
Check if the device is powered on and try restarting it. If the issue persists, ensure the external monitor is connected properly.
Use a flashlight to examine the screen, observe if an image appears. If it does, the backlight is likely off. Also, check if the windows settings identify the internal display.
