Display and power issues with RGB components
I haven't discovered a method to link your case fans with your RGB power supply to the motherboard. Could someone suggest a hub or alternative solution? I'm frustrated because my RGB RAM sticks and CPU cooler are matching colors while the fans and power supply display rainbow or uniform hues. Specifications: Motherboard MPG Z390 Gaming Plus, Power Supply CX750F RGB, CPU i7-9700k, GPU GeForce RTX 3060, Cooler Nzxt Kraken X53 RGB.
Hello! The motherboard seems to have two RGB headers as per the documentation. The power supply instructions mention controlling it via an adapter that connects to the motherboard through a 5V, 3-pin header, which differs from your motherboard's standard 12V, 4-pin connector. I’m unsure if the PSU will work directly with the motherboard using the RGB cable, since both voltage standards are different. I believe the best option is to use a hub like Corsair Fan Hub (Commander PRO or Lighting Node PRO) and manage it through iCUE software if you have a USB 2.0 port available. The case also supports ARGB, so direct connection isn’t possible unless you use an adapter and link to one of the RGB headers for control with another software. That scenario lacks official support for iCUE RGB tools. I’m sorry there’s no simple fix here. In the future, keep in mind that RGB/ARGB setups aren’t universally compatible—software and hardware approaches are usually brand-specific, especially for fan hubs.
