Hi, a couple of weeks ago I started using my notebook, everything seemed normal. After roughly ten seconds of startup it crashed and displayed a black screen. I restarted it using the power button, but when it powered on again it wouldn't load Windows from the boot drive. I suspected an SSD issue, but since I also had an HDD, I chose to install Windows there. When I connected the USB with the Windows installer, I found out I could also install it on the SSD and proceeded with that. All data was intact, and everything worked smoothly until recently.

Last night while watching something on Google Chrome, my computer froze for about two minutes or longer. I could only move the cursor but couldn't click anything. Later, most functions returned, except the Task Manager, which showed only icons without any text or partial information. Since I had tasks to complete, I decided to push through. At night I turned it off with the power button and now it won't boot at all. I have no idea what happened...

My Lenovo Legion Y520 (basic model with a 1TB HDD) was eventually replaced by an SSD after my dad suggested it for better performance. He even bought me a DATA XPG SX 6000PRO with 256GB.

It seems like the SSD might be faulty or not properly installed. Try installing Windows on your HDD to check if the problem gets resolved.

It seems confusing why everything remains saved yet you can't start the system.

I can't help with that either, your prediction matches mine. Perhaps once you set up your operating system on the hard drive, try running CrystalDisc on your solid-state drive and check its results.

Your data might be present, but there could be controller issues, especially with the internal SSD firmware. You may encounter various problems in that scenario. Once, I had an SSD that allowed reading files, but anything you wrote disappeared after a restart—so only buffering seems to work. GoodRam was the solution. I recommend purchasing a new, reliable SSD. I only trust certain brands: Samsung, Crucial (only top models), Adata (better models), and SanDisk.

It was an SSD drive. I moved my old Windows files to a HDD for backup, but then it crashed unexpectedly. Now I can't find it when I try to reinstall Windows. It seems I need a new one.
