Disk Cleanup on Windows 7 only frees space without actually removing it, as it deletes the same area again
I was organizing some files (3GB) and noticed C: lost 3GB of available space. I assumed it was an error, so I ran disk cleanup extended via the command prompt. Removed another theoretical 1GB, but ended up with 1GB less free. Now I need to eliminate the newly added 4GB that should have been removed. Thanks ahead!
Verify that Windows did not generate a System Restore snapshot after your file deletion.
