I’m curious about purchasing these security cameras from YI Home. The app interface looks great based on reviews and videos, and the camera quality seems solid. The main concern is their privacy policy—it mentions (see attached image). I’m worried whether accessing the cameras through my phone might collect personal data like hashed passwords or browser details for anyone using the network, not just the app or desktop version. Could you clarify how data is handled when viewing the cameras? Thanks!

It keeps your details like name, username, email, and password on their servers. When you access their site, they get your IP address, browser info, and more.

If you're using your phone to view live streams, the service won't collect your hashed passwords or other network data.

It’s good to be aware of the risks, but using a VPN adds an extra layer of protection. It helps shield your data from potential threats like rainbow table attacks.
