You can operate 4 sticks, which reduces the highest possible frequency and timing settings regardless of the same capacity. The same applies to every platform.

I use 4x8 sticks on my RR2 without any problems. I’ve tried two different kits, adjusting frequencies and timings to match. So far, everything’s working smoothly. I’ve personally experienced no issues with Ryzen—since its release I’ve had my first R7, and I’m getting my second part this year because it’s a great processor. My brother built a Threadripper with 128GB of RAM in quad channels and hasn’t had any problems either. At first I thought Ryzen might have trouble, but now it seems fine.

Alright! Thanks guys, I was being told not to run 4 sticks period as it puts to much stress on the Integrated memory controller and it ends up being slower than just running 2 sticks anyways. But I appreciate the input.
