You can remove your hard drive, switch to Windows 10, clear and reinstall it from an SSD, then reconnect the drive. There should be no compatibility problems. Your non-system files, such as Steam games, will remain intact. You can also transfer programs and program files from your SSD to the hard drive, including those installed on it.
