Ryzen chips perform best with fast RAM speeds. A 2400 MHz clock isn't ideal; aim for 3200 or even 3600 MHz. With an A320 chipset and a second-gen Ryzen, 3200 MHz would be excellent if possible. Ideally, you'd want two memory sticks in dual-channel mode, which can improve performance by about 5 to 15%. If you only have one stick, getting a second one would be better than buying two lower-frequency sticks. Upgrading the CPU might not be necessary right now, given your motherboard and current RAM setup. You could save your money and wait until you have a better motherboard and a higher-speed RAM later—perhaps when you're ready to upgrade to a socket AM5 or a newer chipset with support for six cores. Keep the CPU as is and think about selling the existing components in the future.

You meant to refer to an x2 8GB RAM setup. It sounds like you’d want to purchase a RAM module now, then later upgrade the motherboard and CPU. This approach increases the chance that performance issues stem from the slow single-channel RAM rather than other components.

You'll notice significant frame rate improvements in certain titles, while others see only minor gains. The clock speed also matters—see the second clip where you can compare 2666 versus 3200 or 3600 MHz modules. The gap becomes even clearer with a 2400 MHz stick. If budget is tight, consider purchasing two 3200-3600 sticks at 2400 MHz instead. On an A320 board, 3600 MHz sticks might only reach 3200 MHz, which is acceptable. Your application could also slow down if it demands more than 8 GB of RAM and frequently swaps data to the drive or SSD. If this occurs, lower video quality settings may help—even at 75% capacity, textures might stay in RAM, reducing the load.
