In summary, getting that cooler would restrict your options. I think you should keep the stock cooler unless you find something offering better cooling than the Corsair H80i v2. Your teacher wasn't clear and likely was referring to that point. Still, I believe there are benefits to non-stock coolers.

The CoolerMaster Elite 110 accommodates only a 120mm AIO, while the top air cooler it can fit is the noctua nh L12s.

I don't have enough information to determine which cooler would fit the Elite 110. Could you specify the model or brand you're interested in?

You're aiming to design the system conceptually, focusing on delivering strong performance within budget constraints. The key is to balance high scores in speed, sound quality, and real-time calculations while keeping threadripper usage in mind. The test expectations emphasize concise solutions with solid benchmark results, and you're aware that many others rely on the cougar itx case.

Hello! I’m considering purchasing a Corsair H80i v2 for my Ryzen 3900x. I only have one 120mm fan/radiator in my mid-tower setup, and temperatures are hitting around 80°C with thermal throttling near 4.1GHz, limiting my games to about 80°C. I’m using the stock Prism Wraith and it’s capping most of my performance. Would upgrading to a better cooler help lower those temps, allowing me to push higher clock speeds while keeping the case cooler overall? Thanks!
