Hello there, fellow overclockers
I’m trying to push my processor up to 3 GHz
Here are my system details:
Motherboard – Gigabyte M61PME-S2P
Processor – AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz
RAM – Kingston 2Gb DDR2 (400MHz)
CPU Cooler – built in (information missing)
I’m very new to this process, but I need your advice.
These components are quite outdated; a 3 GHz boost might not be needed. I recommend upgrading to at least 6GB RAM and a dedicated GPU.
Alright, let’s start.
These photos aren’t mine. I found tutorials on YouTube to help.
The image I shared is from someone who managed to reach 3.3 GHz.
For my motherboard, I should set the FSB to 240 and the Vcore to 1.4000…

One of the examples shows a setup that reaches 3.3 GHz.
For my motherboard, I should set the FSB to 240 and the Vcore to 1.4000 initially. After testing, I should run benchmarks or a stress test. Once stable—without blue screens, crashes, or reboots—I’ll lower the Vcore to 1.3750.
