Discussing the PCIE power cable issue
Hi, I just moved from a 6700xt to a 3080ti but lost access to the remaining cables, especially the PCIE. Right now I’m using a daisy chain of the 2x8pin PCIE cable. It’s working temporarily—should I worry or panic? Or can it hold until I get new ones? Also, anyone know where to buy a PCIE cable that fits my modular PSU? I’m not sure if all Cooler Masters Modular PSU cables are compatible. My specs include an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, a Cooler Master V1200 Platinum cooler, and a Aorus X570 Pro Wi-Fi Gigabyte 3080ti. No plans to overclock it.
It's okay to use it now as long as you have more cables. PSU cables are typically 18AWG or 16AWG, Corsair uses 16AWG, and CoolerMaster is unclear about it. Cablemod can usually create one. Visit their configurator page on the website and select a custom PSU cable.
Thanks for the responses! It really helps to know I won’t have to worry about a high-end GPU. I’ll switch to cable mod and check out what I can achieve.
