Discussing the FPS Module in Star Citizen at the AMA event.
For anyone who has yet to read the RSI comm-link or who has questions about the FPS portion of Star Citizen, there is a Reddit AMA by the REDACTED FPS team happening right now. AMA: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/2k..._anything/ You could also use twitter or the RSI forums to ask any questions you might have. Comm-link post: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-...I-Takeover Edit: It should be noted that the FPS module will not be out until "early 2015."
Seems it won’t be CoD/BF style, that’s great! Maybe I can slip in like Snake <3
They provided a sample scenario. "A Persistent Universe experience" was highlighted. As a quiet, solo player, I discovered a damaged vessel and realized scavengers would arrive soon. I stowed myself inside a crate and let the scavengers take it, then transferred to their ship. After some time, I emerged quietly and picked up items I liked. I could choose to: A) exit through the airlock and request transport, B) head to their engine room and destroy the ship, C) quietly eliminate everyone and take the vessel, or Z) they might have checked the crate properly before loading it, then destroyed it with their ship and me.
:, I hope David and Paul will come back to the MG universe one day. Kiefer is just...so strange, but I can handle him as "Big Boss Snake"
This game should follow the ARMA style. Avoid any personal bias in my profile.
One of the responses on the AMA mentioned the FPS module would combine elements from Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six, Arma, Delta Force, and Kill Zone.
It seems like there's so many factors to be considered when boarding another ship. Apparently you gotta wait to drill into the ship, which will give time to the crew on board the boarded ship to ready up. I wonder how its gonna be like when you damage the gravity generator: do you just start floating around and shooting people? How do you navigate considering the realistic physics? Kick off walls? How is that controlled? Holy crap that was a lotta question. I think I can come up with moar.
