Hey everyone, I own an i9-9900K with a NZXT Kraken z73. My CPU temperatures are getting a bit high lately. After two years, I’ve seen temps hit 78°C during Apex Legends, while the liquid temp on the NZXT CAM stays around 51°C. I’m wondering if it’s time to replace the CPU or if there’s an issue with the cooler. I also run an EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090, but that doesn’t seem to help much. Additionally, in Warzone my CPU maxes out, and I don’t understand why.

It's a typical working temperature for an Intel CPU. Intel defines a threshold of 100°C for thermal throttling, which is when you should begin to be concerned. The Task Manager Processes section and performance charts don't reflect actual CPU utilization. For Intel chips that rely heavily on turbo boost, the numbers are artificially raised by that percentage. Your CPU employs Intel turbo boost, boosting speed by up to 35% above its base frequency of 3600 MHz. The figures in the Processes tab are similarly inflated by this same margin. Check the CPU details under the Details tab for accurate usage data. The graphs and tab readings you see aren't actual CPU load.
