a few days back I purchased an 8GB Corsair Vengeance LX RAM at 3200MHz. When I accessed my BIOS to activate XMP, it indicated that the device didn’t support it. Even after manually setting the speed to 3200MHz, the system reported an overclocking failure upon boot. I have another RAM module that does support XMP, and when used together, it allows me to enable it. However, I can’t activate XMP with just the Vengeance RAM. The seller I bought it from mentioned he never enabled XMP because he wasn’t familiar with it, and the RAM appears to be from an older generation. According to the packaging, Intel 7th Gen supported that model. Right now I’m fine since I’m using two sticks and can enable XMP, but I’m curious about how to run this RAM at its full speed independently. Also, the other stick I own is from a different brand, so the performance might differ. After turning on XMP, both sticks reach 3200MHz.
