You're curious about Intel CPUs using an integrated GPU (iGPU) alongside a discrete GPU (DGPU) via a DGPU. That's an interesting setup! The impact on performance depends on your workload—CPUs can sometimes leverage the iGPU for certain tasks, but the real-world difference varies. With a 2080, you might see modest gains in specific scenarios, though it won't fully replace the DGPU's capabilities. It's worth testing in your use case to see what works best.

It might help using Intel's unique capabilities such as Quicksync when paired with a GPU, though from a performance standpoint there would be no advantage.
