Discussing differences between Unifi AC Lite and Ruckus R710 models.
Comparing Unifi AC Lite and Ruckus R710, what factors would determine the best speed and range? The two red dots suggest a specific coverage zone, while the yellow area indicates where Wi-Fi isn't essential. Manny APS might be useful for that spot. How would you feel about adding the R710 APS? What’s your ideal coverage area?
APs show dramatically different performance levels. The Ruckus, with its advanced beam shaping and wave 2 MIMO ability, will clearly outperform the Ubiquiti at wave 1. The gap becomes most noticeable at 5GHz, while it's less pronounced at 2.4 GHz due to broadcast restrictions on speed. Ubiquiti's strength lies in their extremely affordable devices, making them easy to install anywhere. They also include a solid controller for free. Previously, I couldn't choose the Ruckus; if you skip the cost, each AP must run independently.
When evaluating pure performance, Ruckus APs consistently outperform Ubiquiti options. However, you may be spending more for Ruckus, which is typical. Ubiquiti operates without a subscription model—opt for their paid plans to access advanced tools and support, or choose "Unleashed" for core capabilities without ongoing fees.
