So maybe this week I’ll be taking apart his computer and doing some work on it. He’s got a 7600k, an ASUS TUF Z270 MK2, and a 1070 processor. He plans to add a Hyper 212 black cooler. He really doesn’t know much—like when I visited his place last week and turned on his XMP settings, which he hadn’t used in a couple of years. I’m thinking about giving it a bit more tuning, but my PC is a fully custom loop and I run Ryzen, so that’s what I’m used to. My concern is finding a safe multiplier and voltage setting to make it stable and reliable. I want him to get the best performance without any problems, so I’ll be a bit more careful than pushing it too hard.

Focus on monitoring the temperature and observe the behavior when the CPU operates at 1.35V stock clocks during a stress test. For Asus models, check the Vcore value using HWinfo64.
