In short, I had to swap an SSD without realizing it was still covered by warranty. After replacement, I'm unsure about the capacity for NVMe expansion on a B550-A Pro motherboard. My system already has both SSD slots filled, and I'm trying to understand how to use the new third SSD. Should filling the second slot block me from using an adapter in the third PCIe slot? If not, what about the fourth PCIe slot? If neither works, is there a recommended adapter that fits two SSDs at once?

It seems the second M.2 port blocks your four-lane configuration. Four-lane adapters are typical, though single-lane options exist (though performance drops significantly). I'm uncertain if every SSD can handle one lane operation—usually it needs a split (BIOS setting to divide lanes), which is uncommon on secondary slots, especially since the main slot likely hosts a graphics card.
