The Dell forums ended supporting dimensions, so I checked for alternatives. I have an old Dell E520 with a PLGA 775 socket. Some sites suggest using a Core 2 Duo for 64-bit, which would require 8 GB RAM. However, others say the motherboard won’t work. Upgrading to a BIOS update might help, but it could be ineffective. The E7300 Core 2 Duo is the CPU I’m considering. Adding four 2 GB RAM sticks should fit, depending on the board.
