I have a query about the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. I recently purchased this model with these details: AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, and 16 GB RAM. I’m thinking about increasing my memory to a minimum of 32 GB. Can I do that? From what I know, the laptop includes 8 GB built-in memory and another 8 GB in a SO-DIMM slot. Should I replace the 8 GB slot with a 32 GB one to reach 40 GB total? Is that feasible? Are there any restrictions? I’ve heard some people warn about dual-channel configurations causing issues. You are able to do it, though you will miss dual channel which reduces CPU speed.

If this holds, then it should function properly. Using 16GB of your RAM in dual-channel mode while the remaining operates in single-channel will optimize performance. Aim to purchase RAM that closely matches the specs of your existing RAM modules.

16GB can run smoothly with a single dual channel, and the rest will operate on a single channel. This means you'll experience a slight drop in performance, but it shouldn't be significant.
