The details work out just fine. Minor variations in timing mean they shouldn't face any issues aligning their schedules.

Usually the BIOS adjusts to a lower frequency or timing, which helps it function automatically

I kept in mind that things can fail. I installed two Maximus Hero X machines in 2018. Each came with two 8GB DDR4 3200 sticks. One upgraded to two 16GB 3200 in 2020, but I didn’t complete the swap until recently. Both had an i7 8080K with a 5GHz overclock from the start. The two other units ran an i7 8086K with a 5.1GHz boost. With four 8GB sticks, neither system performed well. After removing the overclock, performance improved but it felt slow. HWiNFO64 showed no CPU boost. This behavior surprised me—it might explain why strong hardware doesn’t always deliver. I suspected an issue with the two slots. I swapped out the 16GB sticks for the i9 9900K and installed it in the working slots. The machine stopped and displayed a blue screen. It was essential for recording videos the following day, so I retired the original board and used an Aorus Ultra Z390 with the i7 8086K and four 8GB DDR4 3200 modules. Everything functioned smoothly. Basically a minor disaster after a simple upgrade.
