New software version available for Lumia 950 / 950 XL, Lumia 830, and LG Lancet. This update applies in certain markets, including Canada. It includes stability enhancements, better GPS performance, and improved call audio quality. For the latest version, switch to the Production Build; you can return to Insider Fast after.
I've been testing the Windows Hello beta feature. After a few days of using it, it feels smooth and convenient, especially when wearing gloves. So far, I haven't faced any problems. The setup is straightforward; as long as you're within a reasonable distance and aligned, the system performs well. Just avoid wearing glasses for now. That's my current feedback.
Oh, it seems you meant sunglasses. I didn’t realize you were referring to them.
It's pretty accurate. I own two pairs of sunglasses—one with a standard dark tint that matches my photochromic lenses, and another silver mirror-finish aviator style. The first works well in normal to low light, but the second doesn't quite match up. As long as the lenses aren't too shiny, Windows Hello should function fine.
For reference, the Slow and Release Preview uses a ring speed of 14267.1004.
The 925 model doesn’t receive the newest updates for the fast ring. Microsoft has updated the system. There are three tiers for insiders: Insider Fast, Insider Slow, and Insider Release Preview. Insider Fast is reserved for the latest phones launched—such as the 950, 950xl, 650, and 550. The fast ring now offers extremely quick access to the newest builds, bug fixes, and new features. Insider Slow serves as the previous tier, used by all other devices eligible for the insider program. It provides access to the most recent builds for a large number of phones. Inside Release Preview was the old version for those who wanted early builds but only needed stable versions with minimal issues. Essentially, I recommend using the slow ring for the 950 to get the latest updates (there was an update for Insider Slow as well, version 10586.122). If you need the most recent release for your 950, switch to the fast ring. Zach from WinBeta made a small mistake in explaining Cortana’s features. Cortana can now listen to music and recognize songs since the start of W10M. However, on W10M it offers two modes: typing or showing feed content, and listening to speech. Only in the listening mode does the music button appear. You just need to press the search button, and Cortana will appear, then after a second the music icon will show up regardless of activity. This happens because users were unaware the feature existed.
