Your plan sounds solid! With the Ryzen 5 5600X, you’ll get good performance now, but keep in mind that hardware can degrade over time. For at least three years, it should still perform well unless you upgrade components or face significant wear.

It depends on your needs—what purpose will the PC serve and what display size you require?

The decision for the 5600X over the more affordable model came down to specific needs or preferences. The higher price of the 5600X likely reflects its enhanced features, performance, or value proposition that align better with the intended use case.

Check the main distinction between X and the other version—does the X version include a higher unlocked multiplier? From the benchmarks, these CPUs typically differ by around 1 to 3 frames per second, with most showing only a slight improvement.

The alternative version is also available. The variation lies only in standard clocks.

The 0.2Ghz performance seems minimal in non-productive tasks, and it offers little improvement in productivity-focused scenarios.

It's not as significant as it seems; you can simply enable PBO plus AutoOC to achieve top CPU performance on both B and X series boards. The main advantage of choosing X is only worth it if the price difference is minimal.

If I bought it, I’d need $37 more, which is a lot considering I’m a student with very low earnings.

It seems the 5600X adds about $5 to $10 in value for better performance without needing stability testing on an OC. It’s not a big jump beyond $30 extra.

I mean it would be worth, but not at this moment, but honestly with a cheap B450 board anything faster than 5600x would require a better MB so not much to think in more expensive CPUs Edited January 24, 2023 by podkall eeeeeeeeedit
