Discuss the latest developments in Star Wars: Battlefront.
I intend to buy Battlefront but want to confirm if a season pass is required for online play. If I purchase the game alone, will I be limited to story mode? I’m completely new to the title and only know it’s related to Star Wars—hopefully this isn’t a joke!
You should not think otherwise. The game needs you always connected, so stay online 100% of the time when you intend to play. There’s only a small offline campaign available.
He was extremely critical of it, suggesting it wouldn't be worth $60.
It seems like it could still be a worthwhile purchase if you're a big Star Wars fan. Objectively, the game offers limited replay value, with little variation in gameplay and a tendency to become repetitive. The base content is modest, mostly accessible only through a season pass, and the unlock system feels a bit shaky. The standout features are its impressive visuals and audio quality. Compared to other titles, it provides a decent experience at a low price—around $3 on Steam. If you enjoy Star Wars, you might overlook these shortcomings and still have a satisfying experience. I’m not claiming it’s perfect, but it’s a solid shooter with a Star Wars theme. If you’re interested in other games, consider checking out Battlefront 2, which is similarly priced and offers more content. Since you appreciate graphics, you might prefer that one instead. There are plenty of reviews available, so you could explore them if you're curious. AngryJoe and Total Biscuit are among my top reviewed games.
I’d strongly disagree about that, given the number of SW films being released. It’s likely we’ll see another Battlefront soon. Plus, it seems EA has confirmed that the season pass or map packs won’t contain any TFA content, suggesting they’re planning for a future title.
