I'm setting up a door access system with the main switch available for ports. For segregation, would it be better to purchase an additional switch? Everything seems to align with unified systems. Feel free to share more tips!

It seems simpler to use distinct VLANs for better network separation. This approach could help create a guest Wi-Fi network while keeping the main and employee networks separate. Someone familiar with firewall setup might be able to assist further.

To isolate the door access systems, set up a dedicated VLAN for them.

Set up a new network on your Unifi controller. It should generate a VLAN and link the ports used for the door system in port configuration to that network. Finally, configure the appropriate firewall rules to restrict access to this VLAN from unauthorized parts of the network.
