Hello, Spotify’s offline feature lets you save your playlists or tracks so you can listen without an internet connection. To keep access, you typically need to download the content once and then continue using it offline. You don’t have to reconnect constantly—once downloaded, it stays available as long as the device has the saved files. For your situation with the old netbook, this means you can use Spotify’s offline mode while traveling or in areas without service, giving you reliable access without needing another app. Let me know if you need more details!

Files are saved in a unique format Spotify uses, not standard MP3s. You may be without internet access for up to 29 days before needing to reconnect.

You have to check in within a certain amount of time (I think it's every 30 days or something) to confirm you're a paid subscriber. The songs are also encoded files that only Spotify will read, so you can't simply drag a song from the Spotify folder into your other library and keep it. But yes, there's an "Available Offline" switch on your playlist that you can enable to download the playlist for you to use offline.
