Hello! I'm just getting started on the forum and hadn't found a relevant thread before. Could you tell me if you have any experience with visual impairments or know someone who does? If so, what advice or tools do you recommend for people facing similar challenges? I'm especially curious about ways to enjoy both old games and modern AAA titles, whether through software, hardware, or creative workarounds. I've been dealing with severe visual impairment for about 14 years and have been playing games for a similar amount of time. I should be able to share if this sparks any interest!
Absolutely, these games are trending right now. I haven't tried them myself, but my brother has a similar condition and he's considering playing a few. He seems to feel they don’t offer the complete experience. I’d love to hear your thoughts, since eventually everyone might face vision loss or other health issues—just a reminder of life’s lessons.
I mean, my reaction time is slow because I got a hard hit to the head when I was little, and it’s been that way ever since. But I’m not stupid or anything. As long as I get enough time, I can do whatever I want. Ironically, I love CSGO, but for me, I don’t need any shortcuts. Yet I’m really bad at competitive games I play.
It seems like we might share similar reaction speeds since I often need to quickly move my eyes across the screen to understand what’s happening. Back when I played Enemy Territory, the hit sounds from the ETPro mod helped, but now with fast-paced shooters it’s tougher—everything happens too quickly. People often think I’m bad at games because of my reaction times.
Yes lol, My friends make fun of me but as like a joke, Like when i would legit take 4 seconds to notice someone. But it doesnt always happen. Sometimes i can reqct pretty quick. But strangers? hell yea. But my friends know im ok with it.
I’m experiencing muscle weakness, which has led to needing a wheelchair. I don’t rely on any tech fixes, but I have a slower reaction time that affects my shooting skills—though I enjoy them, especially in games like Battlefield. On the other hand, my dad assembled my PC using clear, step-by-step guidance from me.
