It seems I hadn't mentioned that before. Sure, keeping in mind the 14nm shortage, which hopefully won't turn Comet Lake-S into another paper launch like Cascade Lake X, I suspect they won't release another batch of 14nm chips. I also doubt Intel will bring back 10nm chips that work with the same socket or chipset. Of course, I might be mistaken. The absence of PCI-E 4.0 also hints that the Z490 might not last long.
Uncertain about the idea that AMD generates more heat. Pretty sure it's not Pretty Ryzen, but the Ryzen series generally stays cooler than Intel and uses less power. The 10700K will definitely be tough to cool. On the other hand, the 3700X manages well with just the built-in cooler. Its TDP is half that of the 10700K even though they have the same number of cores and threads. That’s why AMD is gaining ground over Intel lately.
